The DTI R2 Batanes highlights another milestone for the province and its MSMEs with the successful conclusion of the 19th Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair, held on 19-25 September 2025, at Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The event served as a dynamic platform to highlight the rich culture, ingenuity, and craftsmanship of Ivatan products. With the unwavering support of DTI R2 Batanes, the province generated a total sale of ₱350,880.00, directly benefiting 11 assisted MSMEs along with other consolidated nano enterprises. The diverse array of products including works from artisans and players in the creative industries, once again showcased the resilience and ingenuity of the Ivatans in bringing their unique identity to wider markets. The fair was further elevated by the presence of esteemed leaders who continue to champion local enterprises. Honorable Congressman Ciriaco B. Gato and Mayor Richard James Cabugao of Uyugan graced the opening program, underscoring strong legislative and local government support for the advancement of Ivatan businesses. Equally significant was the partnership with the Provincial Local Government Unit of Batanes, under the leadership of Governor Ronald P. Agudo Jr., whose administration has been instrumental in strengthening programs that empower entrepreneurs and boost the province’s tourism industry.

This collaboration highlighted how government and private stakeholders can work hand-in-hand to ensure the growth and sustainability of regional enterprises. More than just a trade activity, the fair embodied DTI’s brand of “Serbisyong Higit pa sa Inaasahan.” Beyond traditional assistance, DTI R2 Batanes continues to nurture local MSMEs by not only creating opportunities for sales but also by helping them build valuable networks, develop market-ready products, and establish their presence in larger commercial arenas. The exposure at Festival Mall gave Ivatan products from food delicacies to artisanal crafts, an opportunity to captivate new customers, affirming the cultural and economic significance of Batanes creative industries. As the curtains close on this year’s Padday na Lima, the achievements of Ivatan MSMEs stand as proof of what can be accomplished with perseverance, innovation, and collective support. The trade fair was not merely an economic venture but also a cultural celebration carrying with it the stories, traditions, and aspirations of the Ivatans. Moving forward, the momentum gained from this event will continue to inspire initiatives that preserve Ivatan heritage while advancing sustainable local enterprise development.

The 19th Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair has reaffirmed Batanes’ place as a province of promise and potential. With dedicated leadership, empowered MSMEs, and the unwavering commitment of agencies like DTI and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Batanes, the Ivatans will continue to thrive in both local and global markets, bringing pride to their community and ensuring that their culture remains alive and flourishing through their products. Moreover, the DTI R2 Batanes extends its heartfelt gratitude to the PLGU Batanes for sponsoring the Batanes Pavilion, which stood out as the highlight of the trade fair and proudly showcased the consolidated Ivatan products of local MSMEs.
